La afirmación del mandatario, en entrevista al programa “Sin medias tintas”, fue su respuesta al ser consultado sobre la preocupación expresada por un grupo de cocineros, entre ellos Gastón Acurio, respecto al ingreso de semillas transgénicas al país, pues consideran que afectará nuestra biodiversidad.
La respuesta del chef no se hizo esperar y llegó a través de su cuenta en Facebook. “Decir: Que hablen los que saben, es decirle al 90 por ciento del país que no opina como uno, que se calle por que No sabe”, escribió Acurio.
“¿Es posible cualquier discusión en esos términos?. Tener el ego elevado no esta bien. Tener el ego colosalmente elevado esta pésimo. Pero tener el ego colosalmente elevado y ser líder de un país. Eso esta muy muy mal”, continuó Acurio, quien ha criticado públicamente el reciente decreto del Ministerio de Agricultura que permite la entrada al Perú de semillas transgénicas o genéticamente modificadas.
Tras las palabras de García, Acurio también escribió que hay biólogos y genetistas a favor y en contra, así como economistas y ambientalistas.
